Totally avoidable Italian place!

Wife and me had heard about this Italian place in Indiranagar. Being close to such great places like Smoke House Deli we had great expectations from it.

But the first turn-off was that they don't serve non-veg!

We went for the buffet. They give a welcome drink which I didn't touch after the first sip. They then give some mexican starter(in an Italian place!) which are lack lustre, at best. It was here that my bubble (of excitement) burst.

The buffet counter had hardly anything. Salads, dips, nachos, breads, a couple of lact lustre pizza pies. That's it! Then I learnt that you have give an order of pasta which the chef prepares in a small pan/portion.

The only saving grace in the whole affair was the dessert counter with some nice cheese cake and chocolate cake.

Never gonna visit this place again. I don't know how this place had such high ratings.

Good Vegetarian Italian Food!

One of the few places in Bangalore that is vegetarian-only. I have always loved the food here. Mocktails are ordinary, but when it comes to food, they excel. The ingredients that they use are good quality. Havent really tried the Antipasti here, because i am always saving space for dessert ( btw, tiramisu is great and so is the blueberry cheese cake). Met a group of friends here on a sunday evening and they provided us with a seating area which was in a way secluded or say isolated from the common area, and we loved it. The portions are reasonably large. My favorite is the Cannelloni Alla Florentina. I have being meaning to try the pizzas here, but havent done it. The Tostada in their Mexican specialities section came fully loaded. All in all, if you are a vegetarian, though the prices are slightly steep, you will not regret your visit here for sure. :) The service is good, the attendants, might not know everything in very much of detail, but they guide you well enough.

Decent Place

A hungry Sunday afternoon post a shopping spree brought us here.We landed at a table after a wait of 15-20 min and were eager to order. Our order:1] Garlic Bread with cheese - Liked the way it was baked and served, very unlike the garlic bread served in the multi chain Pizza outlets. The garlic bread was freshly baked, soft, round in shape like a bun and the cheese had completely melted between the 2 slices as the bread was warm.2] Pizza Mellino - Nice thin crusted pizza3] Masala Mafia [with Spaghetti] - Spicy sauce with lots of coloured veggies, made us reach for the water glasses. Just loved it.4] Calzone Al Forno Overall a good dining experience and value for money too!

Treat For Veggie People..!!

Being a hard core vegetarian, it’s difficult to find good options for international cuisines. That’s why I was so surprised to see a vegetarian Italian restaurant – “Little Italy” in Indiranagar. Myself and my husband had gone for lunch and it was a very nice experience. As the name suggests, the place is indeed little but ambiance suits the theme. The staff too were quite friendly all through.

We opted for buffet since choosing individual pizzas or pastas and some drinks would be much more costlier and a tiresome job compared to a buffet. Buffet started with a mock-tail. It was pretty much soothing since it was hot in the afternoon. Then we ordered 2 starters (1 starter per person). Tomato dressing on bread could not be strictly considered as a starter but should admit that it was tasty. The cheese balls were yummy and we enjoyed it a lot. Soups were below average as it looked like cooked vegetables and boiled water mixture. We then went to check on the main course which is of course – Pasta and Pizza. My frequent official trips to Italy have helped me identify typical Italian bread. The breads kept there were good enough to match with that. The dressing on the bread made it much better. Live pasta counter was quite amazing. Numerous ingredients makes it a good choice. Pizza too was prepared live in front of us which is kind of exciting. Though one might find the options for main course very less, varieties of pizza that comes hot off the oven to your plate makes it hard to resist. Lastly for the desserts – 2 flavors of ice cream (average taste) and 3 – 4 fruit flavored cakes. Though the quantity is quite less (the cup in which they keep the cake is very shallow), you might still enjoy different flavors and some are just wonderful. At the end of the lunch, they make sure your stomach is filled with an Italian touch. Weekend buffet might seem little costlier compared to weekdays (Mon-Thu) To put it in simple frame – It’s the place you would not want to miss.

Great place!

A quaint little place, very good food. We were surprised that it is pure veg and has soooo much to offer. Finally, we could take our pure veggie friend to a placed that offers very good veg food and a biiiig menu!

The variety that this place offers is probably the best. The menu is very long and the menu card itself is with photographs of Italy all over it - it's nice. I tried the tortellini with sundried tomatoes and it was great! (just a tad under-seasoned, but that's ok). The service was good as well. From the fact that each review here has a reply from the mgmt, it seems that they take customer feedback very seriously :). My husband tried the ravioli and he loved it too. The items on the menu have funky names like masala mafia and stuff, which is great :)

Only one small problem - when we ordered garlic bread, they did not have it in stock.
A suggestion - the pastas could be accompanied with complimentary buttered, crisp bread. One always expects it with a pasta dish and it was missing. Other than that, everything was just great!

Ambiance and interiors are neat, but could be a little better as it seems to be more of a house. I think soft Italian music would add to the charm. :) Overall a GREAT experience!

Lil Italy

The good thing about Little Italy is that it provides an opportunity for vegetarians to sample good Italian meals. The food is expensive but they serve authentic Italian cuisine. The thin crust pizzas are to die for. However, this is not a good place for people who look for Indianised pizzas and so on.

Valet parking: OUCH OUCH

The food is good and it is surprising to see a good variety of vegetarian Italian selections here! My kid requested for some extra olives in a bowl and it was promptly offered freely much to her glee!

The only major setback I had here was that when i had last visited, i had used the valet parking. There was a big dent when the car was returned to me, which the valet actually hid by standing next to it and keeping the door open for me. Later when i called and asked the manager to check, he did confirm that the valet had indeed bumped into a tempo or something!

If i had asked for damages, they would have probably recovered it from the valet, so i let go. But nevertheless, it was eating here is an experience i will always remember!

Excellent overall. Simply love the place!

Dishes - Cheese fondue - good for a group of 4. Pot of cheese and some really nice veggies. Was heavy for just the 2 of us. Its good. Pasta Barbaresca - This is the best pasta I have had till date and would definitely visit again for the same. The sauce was a combination of creamy and tangy and I simply loved it. Sun dried tomatoes and some broccoli. The quantity is really good. The mocktails also worth every penny. We ordered Mungpoo (fresh mint and watermelon) and Lava flow (strawberry, pineapple and coconut cream) Sadly i dint get to taste the most famed Chocolate bomb as I was too full! I will definitely visit this place again and my hard core non vegetarian friend dint miss his meat here! Not to mention.. All i expect in a restaurant is smiling staff who are attentive and Little Italy surely has real good service. Keep up the good work guys. Will definitely visit again. They prepare jain version on request.

Awesome Weekend Buffet/Brunch...

Went here with my wife and her friend for a Weekend Buffet/Brunch... The spread was really amazing.... The Pizzas and the Pastas were a Live Counter... As usual, gorged on the Thin Crust Pizzas... the starters were pretty neat too... which they serve at the table.. In particular liked their Nachos with Kidney Beans.... They had a Lebanese dish too (Pita-Humus-Panneer Shawarma)..... And of course the rest of the stuff - Au Gratin/Rice/Salads....and then the Deserts... everything was pretty good.. Their Chocolate Bomb with Ice Cream was quite neat. And the staff's pretty friendly... no airs about them... no snootiness... none of that... very cheerful staff around. It was a fairly neat experience, must say ... did not have Dinner that day.... :-) .....
