Was recommended by quite a few of my friendly cooterie. I must say it was worth it. Opted for the Sunday brunch, which is part buffet and part table service.
* The salads were awesome, the selection of veg as well as non-veg was bounty and well prepared.
* The starters were all well prepared, especially the kebabs which melt in your mouth.
* Enjoyed the entre, but alas, I was too full by the time I started with my main course. The buffet preovides you with plethora of options, right from Mughlai, Southern Indian, Italian (Pastas) and assortments of other world cuisines, like Thai and Chinese.
* Desserts- the strength of desserts is as much in its presentation as it is in its mouth watering taste. I give Fusion9 a 9/10 on presentation and 9/10 in taste. The only complain (if any) is that most of the desserts are quite creamy...
* Drinks - Unfortunately I landed up on a dry day :( - Couldnt enjoy my Sunday afternoon beer, So no comments about the bar service.
* Ambience - 10/10: sophisticated and well laid out. One doesnt feel either stuffy or choked because of the smell of the food. That was superb.....
*Service: Pretty couteous and prompt. Well done!!

Hyderabad doesn't carry the tag of foodie’s paradise for nothing! If I’d picked a different restaurant each time I wanted to eat out (which I tried hard to do), I would still have been left with a long list of ’’to check out’’. That list didn’t get very much smaller with time because I made repeat appearances at some restaurants... Chutneys, Mainland China and the restaurant kind of across the street from it : Fusion 9.
Trendy, upmarket... call it what you like, F9 is all that and more. In a sense, a place where I felt very much at home. I’ve been there with friends, colleagues and family. The ambience is just great, the food sinfully good and the service decent. I’ve only been disappointed once: but I can never really tell if it was the preparation that I couldn’t digest or the company I had that evening.
The drinks served here are out of this world, some combinations very unusual. The Long Island Iced Tea served here is truly amazing as is their non alcoholic Lemon Iced Tea. I’ve had almost all the vegetarian starters listed on the menu at F9 and none has failed to impress. Be it the satay or hummus. In the main course section, I’ve tried Spaghetti, Gnocchi, Pizza... pretty much everything except the Biryani! I, of course, am not likely to remember stuff other than the Italian food.
F9 has 9 different cuisines on its menu, including Indian cuisine. But no meal is complete without dessert. One of F9’s specialties is the dessert menu... of yummy stuff prepared by none other than Anelise!! Each item better than the other... all of them just make you wish you’d left a little more space in your tummy. And since you can’t do justice to everything in one visit, you keep going back. I know I did.
The restaurant also has an excellent Sunday brunch spread. The one thing about F9 is that it is crowded... ALL THE TIME. So you’re better off making reservations before hand. A meal for two with drinks could set you back by 800-1000 bucks.
I’d heard about this restaurant much before I even moved to Hyderabad. And the impression it left on me is such that I will talk about it long after I’ve moved out. Out of Hyderabad I’ve come, but I’m holding on tight to the hope that F9 will spread to the rest of the country.

I'd gone with high expectations about fusion 9. Of course I expected the service to be bad from all the comments I'd heard about it, but the food was supposed to be out of this world!
There is no other word for service - its appalling. What do you say when the waiters dont even bother to remove the dirty plates before serving the next course. And its not as if they were too busy, it was a weekday afternoon and hardly anyone was there in the restaurant.
The food, I requested my pasta to be changed from tomato based to an alfredo based... The waiter was all smiles when he said 'but of course we can change the sauce for you'. What I dint expect was my spaghetti to be floating in what seemed like a cheesy muck. And the lamb cutlet which accompanied it was sooo tiny and sooo tough!!! its a cutlet, I'm supposed to be able to cut it easily!!!
My friend dint have that bad an experience... Hers was better but not that great for the price we paid.
But they saved the best for last - the desserts...
That was the best part of the place, their saving grace - atleast in my eyes.
My friend ordered a cheese cake, and moi- a tiramisu grande... The cheese cake was proclaimed the best ever in India and the tiramisu - I wish I had just skipped the lunch and ordered the dessert. It was huuuuge and really really yum..
But all in all the place is horrendously overpriced for their walloping underperformance.

After eating at Laguna (http://hyderabad.burrp.com/establishment/view/174436466), I decided to try Fusion 9, of which I'd head a lot.
I'd have rated it Excellent, except that the high quality food was offset by the poor ambiance and service.
The food was everything I'd hoped for - better than Laguna - different and better. The sushi was not bad, but the wasabi was HOTT!! It was original wasabi, not the fake one served by restaurants in the US and many in Bangalore.
The garlic, cheesy bread and the calimari were very good too. The soups were excellent - especially the wild mushroom soup.
The pasta entrees were okay - not as good as Laguna's but not bad either. Desserts are very good, very imaginative.
The alcohol is limited in variety.
The excellent food was tamed by the ambiance - noisy, too subdued lighting and too... cramped. The tables are too close to each other, and there are TVs in the restaurant that detract from an enjoyable evening. Laguna's ambiance outclasses Fusion's by leaps and bounds. In fact, Laguna's ambiance is elegant and classy compared to Fusion's banal, gauche ambiance.
The service at Fusion was the pits. The servers were inattentive, poorly trained and uninformed. Half the time, they were watching TV instead of doing their jobs. The other half of the time, they took way too long to serve us.
Prices are slightly higher than Laguna's.
I may go back there, but not to take people there for a celebration. Just to eat - not for the service or ambiance.
