Event Details
Penn Masala, the world's first and premier Hindi a cappella group, this genre is only vocal with no background instruments, make its way to India in January. This group performed for President Obama in the White House last. Their music embodies Eastern and Western influences and inspires the South-Asian American population to be creative in sharing their culture. In ten years, Penn Masala has released six studio albums, and their most popular songs, two of which were featured in the hit movie, American Desi. Their sixth studio album, On Detours, was released in March of 2009 and featured a mix of popular Hindi and English covers as well as several original songs.
