Event DetailsShaair + Func are electronica/alternative artists from Mumbai and New York City. Together they produce and compose music. They have recently signed up with Blue Frog Records, with whom they have launched and released their new album - Light Tribe. In the past they also released an album called 'New Day - The Love Album' with Counterculture Records which has now been re-released under Blue Frog Records. They have spent most of 2007 performing and recording all over India, NYC and London. Shaair means poet, in Urdu. Func comes from the word function. Shaair is from NYC and comes from a performance art background, having danced and performed on Broadway and has been singing since she was 5. She grew up in Maryland, U.S.A. listening to Indian classical, ghazals and bollywood music. Func is an art school graduate from Mumbai and has been part of rock band for 14 yrs. He is also a producer who has worked and collaborated with several bands and also composed for tv and films.
