It’s that time of the New Year when Hyderabad is ready to experience the beauty of Navoi Bolshoi Ballet! Fly Kingfisher, in association with APTDC, Travel Masters India Pvt Ltd, The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Dr Reddys Labs and Shankarananda Kalakshetra bring to Hyderabad the world famous Bolshoi Ballet from the erstwhile Soviet city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for their first ever performance in this historic city

The grand and opulently mounted production will consist of about 110 artists including ballerinas and live musicians by the world famous Navoi Bolshoi Ballet from Tashkent The characters of Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote are brought to Hyderabad after having taken in Delhi , Mumbai and Chennai by storm.

The excitement, colour and wit of Cervantes masterpiece are perfectly conveyed in this sparkling production of Don Quixote, set to the vibrant musical score of Ludwig Minkus. In astounding displays of virtuoso dancing, the plot unfolds merrily as the love between Kitri and Basil is challenged by the fruitless attempts of Kitris father to engineer his unwilling daughter into a more lucrative match. Drama, comedy, love and dazzling choreography combine in this enchanting classic.

The production is an extraordinary work of living art, art that has not been seen in South India for nearly 40 years.

The Bolshoi ballet is one of the iconic performing groups of the world, known for their grandeur of repertoire and presentation. The Navoi Opera and Ballet Grand Academic Theatre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (from the erstwhile Soviet Republic ) has been in existence since the early 1920s and is named after Alisher Navoi. This theatre has become one of the leading centres of performing arts in Central Asia, where many famous conductors and musicians, artistes and singers continue to embellish their art. In fact this is one of the only 3 theatres (out of more than 700) that was given the status of Bolshoi (meaning Big) in the erstwhile Soviet Union. The other 2 theatres are in Moscow and Minsk .
