Don't Call Yourself A Foodie If You Haven't Watched These Movies

Tanvi Juwale June 30, 2017

We all love food, don't we? It's something satiates our hunger and keeps us, the human race together. It's something we think of all the time, so we thought why not make a list of our favourite movies that revolve around food. Here are our all-time favourites
100 Foot Journey (2014)
What happens when France meets India? This lovely movie shows how Hasan's (the protagonist) journey from a chef in his father's restaurant to a Michellin Star Chef.
Chef (2014)

A journey of Chef Carl who quits his job post a row on twitter with the city's best food critic and takes a road trip through America in his new food truck. From eating Beignets from Cafe Du Monde to teaching his son about on the job at El Jefe, Chef Carl serves (not only food, but) a lesson to anybody to follow their hearts where it leads you, doesn't it?
Ratatoullie (2007)

Anton Ego, does that name ring a bell? Yes, he was the most feared food critic in Paris. Remember how a simple peasant dish takes him back to his childhood?
The Lunchbox (2013)

The Lunch Box

Lunch, isn't it the best part of your day? When you finally get to sit to eat and share food with your friends. The Lunchbox is a tale of a housewife and how she touches a person's soul with her simple cooking, throughout this movie we looked forward to every letter
Julie & Julia (2009)

Julie & Julia

Didn't we all enjoy this movie? 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen, this story get together two true stories and makes for a movie that causes some serious hunger pangs. What do we love about this movie? Meryl Streep, of course!
Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012)

Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana

For centuries families around the world have passed on their heirloom to next generation. Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is one such movie when Omi (Kunal Kapoor) is on the run from a London gangster and returns to Punjab only to revive Khurana Dhaba owned by his family with a secret recipe to Chicken Khurana!
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (2005)
Let us take you back to your childhood when we wished everything would be made of candy. Charlie's tryst, Willy Wonka's eccentricity and the adorable oompa loompas, there's nothing about this movie we don't adore!
Burnt (2015)

How does one redeem themselves from a rough patch you just hit? In his stellar performance, Bradley Cooper shows grit and passion earns him his third Michelin star. It's a remarkable story of Chef Adam Jones and his journey back to where his heart lies (in the kitchen of course)
Woman On Top (2000)

Woman On Top

Don't let the name mislead you. In this movie, Isabella (Penelope Cruz) stays home and learns cooking skills. She goes from a chef in her restaurant that she owns with her husband to have her own cook show. Her journey is as entertaining as the delicious food she cooks.
Eat Pray Love (2010)

Eat Pray Love

Okay, maybe this movie is not all about food, but don't you think all of us fell in love with Julia Roberts all over again? A woman's journey around the globe seeking the truth, we think makes for a powerful and liberating story.
Now that you know what to watch, gather your gang, huddle around the TV and let the movie marathon begin!
