I have heard a lot about this place from my friends in Hyderabad. So on a visit to Hyderabad from Chennai, a group of friends and I decided to try this place out. There is huge banner saying Bawarchi does not have any branches that catches everyone's eye. The place is always packed even on a weekday. Best place to satisfy your hunger after watching a movie at RTC X Roads.
The place isn't too clean and there is a lot of floating population here, but once you start digging into the delicious biryani there is no looking back.
One can see the kitchen where they make the biryani in huge containers and still use firewood to get that authentic delicious taste.
The restaurant hasn't changed with the times and is still affordable and serves the purpose for most of the crowd.

Though, it still serves good biryani, the quality is bad and the ambiance is terrible.
I am a fan of Lucknowi Briyiani, and generally prefer it over the Hyderabadi variant as it's a bit more ornate. Most places that serve Hyderabadi Biriyani go overboard with the spices. Not so with Bawarchi. This was the place that made me realize that Hyderabadi Biriyani can be delicious. I have tasted both mutton and chicken variants, and mutton is definitely the superior option. The only place where I have had better tasting Hyderabadi Biriyani is at Taj Falaknuma, and the difference was every so slight.
