Big Fan here 2011-04-28
I am quite the fan of Encounters (since 2000) having had many a breakfast there. Recently I have visited for their lunch and dinner buffet and absolutely love the food!! Salad spreads and desserts are nice although the number of items available is not as much as Novotel or Westin. Ask the nice chefs for a fresh Pizza or breads, and I always have the house coffee with my sweets. -

Wow. Have been here for the lunch buffet on more than one occasion. I have been blown away by the food and the service.
The lunch buffet offers a wide range of salads, traditional indian and chinese fare as well as a live counter for dosa (tiffin), pasta and pizzas and a good dessert spread. I've eaten most of what was the vegetarian spread and was told by my companions that the non-vegetarian food was also delicious.
The service is excellent and importantly, gracious. On one occasion, I had forked over some chinese food (noodles and vegetables) and asked for chopsticks. ... read more -

Amazing for Midnight Coffee!! 2009-12-27
I have no idea about the food at this place.
However, I had a chance to visit this place because of some midnight (2 am) cold coffee craving. The quality of cold coffee at a price of just 163/- is too good. It had the right blend of thick cream, ice-cream and coffee...this week I was forced to visit this restaurant for the 3rd time for midnight cold coffee. -

Good service, average food, limited choice 2007-10-16
Since it's the Taj, the service is as good as expected. However, the complements end there.
The menu is limited in choice, and the food on the menu is nothing to write home about. It's over-priced, and doesn't deliver on its promise.
The alcohol menu seems impressive until you realize that there are several items that are on the menu but they don't actually have them (like Stella beer). -
