VIVA LA CANTINA 2011-08-01
the place offers a great menu, with a lot of variety. the fajitas are simply awesome, and worth trying. i tried the chipotle mushroom fajita , and really liked it. lasagna was not like regular kind so it was yummmyyyy...nice collectin of desserts and home made ice cream, it was pretty good.
apart from the good food, the service was prompt and friendly. and chef's attention made it more special overall, i liked the place a lot.
of course,i found it expensive side but worth to pay. -

An unpalatable doppleganger of Mexican food 2011-06-19
Well,I had to write this review after the worst dining experience ever..please don't call this place a Mexican restaurant.A better name would be a Cat food restaurant.
I had booked a table for two at La Cantina hoping to wipe out memories of a previous bad dinner here where we were attacked by hoards of female blood sucking mosquitoes!
We ordered the items listed below (no drinks as I was driving)
1. Bocoles de Res - got 4 flat cakes which looked and tasted like fried chappatis about the size of a 2 rupee coin with a thin layer of unidentifiable goop inside.

Great try, but still not authentic 2011-03-09
PROS
* Excellent service. Ordered a Sangria first, then another drink because Sangria was too sweet. Waiter immediately bought out bottle of red wine to add to Sangria to make it less sweet!
* Very good salsa (unlimited). Sour cream and jalapenos also good and unlimited.
* Tortilla chips home-made (not from supermarket).
* Great decor - makes you feel like you're in Mexico.
* Generous serving sizes - order tacos for main course and get four!
* Excellent selection of deserts - we ordered 3 and each was great. We had churros, delice ice cream and tres leches.

Thank you for your valuable feedback! Tequila is temporarily not available at the restaurant, but like you mentioned it is definitely an integral part of the Mexican culture- we will make sure it is served again soon. As for the mosquito menace, we're taking all measures possible to get rid of them.

Great Ambience Passable Food 2010-09-12
The restaurant is set like a nice getaway, far from the mad buzz of the city. It has phenomenal decor and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The food and drinks were however not up to the mark. I have had better mexican cuisine in small cantinas. The salsa lacked the punch, the cheeses were not right. Mexican food is easy to make, I am sure they can fix this.
I would just stick to corona or beer. Skip the margaritas. -
