Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
I have always felt that authenticity of any country's cuisine should be maintained to the point of being just right to the taste of the natives. Mainland China is one of them. They didnt go overboard to add in spices to satiate our Indian taste buds nor they kept it bland enough to make everything taste similar. They are bang on the target.
We were a group of 8 and were served a special buffet at dinner .Ambience is top notch with huge round tables for large groups which makes the essence of a get together complete. Coming to the dishes, the fish preparation was awesome and so the chick... read more
had gone on my birthday with my wife. She ordered a soup which she found very peppery and left. The waiter came and asked if something is wrong with the soup. After knowing the reason he insisted her to try their signature soup. She politely said it is ok. But he requested just to try. My wife loved the soup he got. We finished the dinner which was yummy and asked for the bill. Meanwhile my wife was asked to fill the feedback form. She filled and gave. Suddenly they started behaving funny. We were thinking why they are not getting the bill. After a couple of minutes we were surprised to see a birth... read more
This review is for Mainland China, Hitech City. I have been to Mainland china only once before and enjoyed their Alacarte dinner even though the price was on the expensive side (1750+ for a meal of two involving three items) . I had planned to visit the place on a regular basis. Hence when I heard about the daily lunch buffet, I was thrilled and decided to try it out. But the whole experience left a bitter taste in our mouth and came back so disappointed that it spoiled our weekend. I really dont understand how food prepared in the same kitched can have two extemes. The food lacked flarvous... read more
Mainland China had opened up a new branch at Hitech City (opposite to Shilparamam), and on one Monday evening me and my wife went there. To my surprise, at 8PM on Monday (the first day of week, if you missed the point)- the restaurant was full and we had to wait. Surely tells about the popularity of this joint.
After 15 minutes, we were seated and order was promptly taken. We ordered Chicken Taipei and a fish starter (forgot the name). They took bit longer to serve it, but quantity was enough for two. Post the starters, we were alomost full, so ordered just one chicken-fried rics and... read more
Have been to Mainland China quite a few times in bangalore. Was recently at the Hyderabad begumpet branch after a longish gap. Realised that the prices have really shot up (dont remember what the prices were like earlier). My favourite chinese restaurant has been Aromas of China and I somehow thought Mainland China and Aromas of China were on the same level in terms of quality and price. But that is clearly not the case. The prices are hitting the roof and almost double that of Aromas. I thought that they have probably revamped the menu to justify the high prices (soups cost 200, starters and main... read more
Have been to the Mainland China many a time, both in Pune and Hyderabd. In Hyderabad used to visit the restaurant in Banjara Hills, till it moved to Begumpet, a newer, nicer place - which houses only their group restaurants. My experiences at Mainland China have been always very good (save for the couple of visits to the Pune restaurant, where I felt the the food and service both slip a bit). Last afternoon had a very pleasant lunch with my friend here in Hyderabad. An assorted platter of dimsum - from their Yum Cha Festival menu - (prawn, chicken and lamb) - steamed and baked ... chicken and mushr... read more
