For all the talk surrounding Hyderabad’s reputation of being a foodie’s paradise, there just are’nt enough decent chat outlets where you can go to looking for a lip smacking Pav Bhaji or a chatpata pani puri without worrying about how your tummy will feel shortly after you’ve treated yourself. Of course there are countless hawkers at virtually every market place that claim to offer asli Bombay chat, but how safe and hygienic these places are is anybody’s guess. An exception to this rule is Maharaja Chat Bhandar. Located close to Madhapur Police station, this road side chat bhandar attracts a huge crowd on both weekdays and weekends. Luxury Sedans, Bikes and other cars line up near its stall to indulge in some of the best chat on this side of Hyderabad. Its speciality is undoubtedly the Pav Bhaji, which is widely regarded by many as one of the best in the city. They claim to use only mineral water for all their preparations and hence all the items on the menu are slightly expensive. The masala Pav Bhaji costs about Rs. 40/- per plate. Also be sure to try their pani puri and aloo tikki chat. In a nut shell, if you are in the mood to try out some chat, head to Maharaja.
