South Indian cuisine at its sublime best!!!

Chutneys is easily one of Hyderabad’s favourite restaurants. This speciality south Indian restaurant that also serves Tandoori cuisine offers some of the best Idlis, dosas and other South Indian delicacies that you will find in the city of Hyderabad. No prizes for guessing that the USP of this restaurant is the myriad of chutney varieties it offers, with each one of them being distinctly delicious. Kudos to the management for bringing under one roof numerous speciality dishes from all over Andhra Pradesh such as Guntur Idli and Vijaywada Bomilli idli among others. One of the chef’s special is the steamed dosa, which is regarded as South Indian superstar Chiranjeevi’s personal favourite. It is quite different and worth a try though I prefer the onion rava dosa any day. The ambience and service are pretty run of the mill with nothing much to write home about but the food more than makes up for all other inadequacies. The biggest problem with this restaurant is the time you have to spend waiting to get a seat. The demand it generates is truly second to none and long queues outside the restaurant especially on weekends is not an uncommon sight. Be advised that this is a pure vegetarian restaurant with no alcoholic beverages either. Don’t know too much about the north Indian dishes although the lassi, I must admit, did not inspire a great deal of confidence. Stick to the south Indian dishes and you’ll leave with a full belly and a taste that will stay with you long after you’ve left.

Good food though grossly overpriced

The food at chutney's is quite nice, however its too overpriced in my opinion. The service, the ambience and the quality of their food does justfiy their prices. And they should do something about the waiting time at their restaurant, because it just takes forever to get a table at that place. You could get equally decent dosa's, thalis and food at many other places in Hyderabad at a much less price.
