The Filter coffee's -this should be a Must order for all.his place tends to be very crowded on the weekends, so expect to wait once you get there.The sambar and all the chutneys they serve along are simply lip smacking.
We reached there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Earlier we could never find this place. A person of the restaurant was taking reservations. Because he stated that we had to wait for 15 - 20 minutes, we agreed, but what we didn't know was that the wait would be endless.
That person kept calling people randomly with his own discretion. I don't know what grudge he had with us.
Lesson learned! Never wait in queue for food rather make a reservation. If there is no table available then go to some other place. It is disgusting to wait till your name to be called for.
Dakshinayan is located in the one of the bylanes of Juhu just bang opposite the Iskcon temple. It's on the ground floor of Hotel Anand. The place was packed on Sunday afternoon. We were given a table after a 20 minute wait. The menu was filled with mouth watering. Since we were a large group, we sample quite some variety. For appetizers we ordered some Rasam soup and one order each of tamarind and lemon vermicelli. We were off to a great start. The Rasam was a spicy but very tasty. For the main course I ordered a spring onion dosa made out of moong-dal. The others on the table ordered Appams with Veg stew, Coconut rice and a sada dosai. Overall the food was tasty and reminded me of the stuff I had during my Kerala visit. The only negative was that the guy taking our order was in some kind of rush was distracted by what was happening on other tables. The handmade ice-creams very delicious and are highly recommended. We also had the filter coffee, which was one of the best I've had in a while. Highly recommended for family lunches.
