And they charge a service-charge for items bought and taken-away at the patiserrie - bread etc. Restaurants do add a service-charge (in lieu of full/part tip) - but not at the take away counters. Even Deli9 abstains from charging a service-charge for take-aways. While it maybe above the board, it is not a norm for bread counters and such. When asked the man said it is a govt tax - which it is not- - service-tax, VAT are govt taxes -- but not service-charge. Thought would grab a biryani there for lunch today. The dine-in area is dark and dingy - and there were these guests smoking the infamous sheesha (I thought there is a regulation to not allow this indoors) - some sort of a brash and rude waiter (with mongoloid features) was ruling the roost there - very very obnoxious indeed - I walked away and out .... Perhaps their product (as a take-away) is good - dont know. And no parking there either ...Another one that will bite the dust .... -

Much talked about and despite many decades in HYD, it was the 1st time I visited Shadab for lunch - the Fish Biryani is something to die for (4-stars). BUT everything else is 1-star .....
Heard their other Biryanis good too - perhaps will get them as a take-away one day ... -

I had a wonderful lunch on their terrace seating. It is SO Mediterranean in looks. The Roast Chicken was divine – well marinated with the subtle hint of delicate flavours – the skin slightly crispy and the meat so wonderfully succulent – and it was accompanied by beans and potatoes – in a rich brown sauce. The Crème Brulee was great, but perhaps would have even been more wonderful if served in a ceramic bowl rather than metal (but perhaps it is a the technicality of that dessert – though I have seen images of Crème Brulee in ceramic bowls too) and it was perhaps a shade too sweet.
