Excellent
Sankalp is a newly opened south-indian restaurant in mahavir nagar. This locality in Kandivli is really short of good quality restaurants and Sankalp thus is a welcome entry.
The place comes across pretty unassuming from outside but its nicely designed from inside. The menu is all south-indian - variety of dosas, uttappas, idlis, etc. at unbelievable prices considering the quality, hygiene and service they offer.
The menu also has a south-indian thali and I hear is pretty good too.
Recommended if you want to hop on a south-indian feast...!!!

Good
Poush happened to be a alternative for us. We had headed towards Myst nearby, but the queue seemed to be unending. With nobody having patience, we decided to try the Kashmiri palate!!
Poush, as other reviewers talked about gets its maximum points for the unique setting because of Shikaras.....! We chose the biggest one and we all sat comfortably.
The place doesn't serve liquor. We requested the manager to arrange some....to all our surprise, he readily agreed!!! Probably, he expected a low turn-around courtesy Ind-Aus match :) And wanted to make most from the customers who walked in.
The place doesn't play any music. So, the experience becomes very bland. One can expect good food and great service though. And the menu seems reasonably priced. Couple that with the savings we made on alcohol (we got all drinks at MRP!!!), it was a real value for money.
Recommended when you just want to grab some food. If you plan an evening out with friends over drinks, dinner and music, you may be in for a disappointment.

Good
Perfect place to have a good chinese meal if you are in Malad West. The place is next to Movie Time. Had tried Uncle's Kitchen and had a bad experience in this part of the town.
We ordered Spring rolls, Pepperi Beanroot and some rice, which tasted good.
The service is quick and portions are large enough to delight you. Food is reasonably priced. We had starters and main course and bill was around 350 for two. Thats quite reasonable for a good chinese meal.
Highly recommended!

Good
I have been visiting this dhaba-type joint since college days and the food quality has been consistent. National restaurant has a reasonable variety in veg as well as non-veg; whatever you try, you will not be disappointed as far as the Taste is concerned.
The place looks dingy and if one happens to look at their kitchen, he/she may not eat here. Don't expect anything in terms of decor, service or ambiance - tasty food is the word here. The place is frequented by people from all sections of the society, however, its not recommended for a family visit.
I have almost tried all the vegetarian menu items. Their fried rajma-daal, palak paneer, kaali-daal and pulav with kadi are highly recommended.

Poor
Firangi Dhaba is no more than a "different looking" restaurant. The place steals one's attention with the interiors - Old rickshaws, low lying tables so that one can sit on gaddis, etc. to give a unique feeling to its ambiance. But alas,it all falls flat, as the service is pathetic!
Whether its drinks, starters or main course - they take ages to serve your order. But I have still given him a 2.5, as the food that was served was better than the service.
We were not even going there, but then Adda; the lounge above them was full and we didn't had an option at 11:00 pm in night.
Keep Firangi Dhaba as the last option if you are planning to dine in Andheri West!
